In the construction industry, Polypropylene (PP), being lightweight, chemically resistant, and cost-effective, is often used for building water supply and drainage pipes and indoor decorative panels. Polyethylene has diverse uses: Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is made into building waterproof membranes, Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) is used to enhance the stability of building foundations with geotextiles, and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is the preferred choice for underground drainage pipes. In the polystyrene family, General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS) is used for transparent parts of building models and temporary display structures, and High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) serves as a buffer layer for building exterior wall insulation systems. Polycarbonate (PC), with its high transparency and strength, is commonly used for transparent enclosure structures such as skylights and curtain walls. Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene copolymer (ABS) is used for plastic fittings of building doors and windows and electrical equipment housings to provide durability.
